Demonstrating their perseverance, excellent results in studies as well as extracurricular activities, three students of the Faculty of Business, Management and Economics (FBME) of the University of Latvia (UL) receive Excellence Scholarships of Pēteris Avens Charity Foundation “Generation”.

Since 2014 already 18 UL FBME students have received Excellence Scholarships of Pēteris Avens Charity Foundation “Generation” in cooperation with the UL Foundation. This scholarship is designed to motivate and support young people who are striving for excellence in their studies, providing financial security and appreciating their work efforts.

After careful evaluation of all scholarship applicants, in the 2020/2021 academic year Excellence Scholarships were awarded to three young women - Alisa Uzariņa, 1st year Master's student of International Business, Sabīne Veide, 2nd year Bachelor’s student of Business Administration, and Keita Smalkā, 2nd year Bachelor’s student of International Economics and Commercial Diplomacy.

Alisa Uzariņa has represented the UL at a summer school in China (NEU Summer Camp of International Economics and Management Scholars) and regularly participates in various projects, including Demola Latvia, Bosch Nordic Experience and others. In the 2017/2018 academic year,  Alisa’s diligence and curiosity was noticed for the first time, when she also received the Excellence Scholarship of the Charity Foundation.

"I am extremely grateful that Pēteris Avens Charity Foundation “Generation” has repeatedly rewarded my diligent work by awarding a scholarship. This is a praise for my achievements and a significant financial support, which inspires me to move forward and gives energy to reach new heights ” says Alisa Uzariņa.

In turn, already at the start of her Bachelor's studies Keita Smalkā  received the LU scholarship "Ceļamaize" for excellent grades in high school and high results in the Olympiads, as well as she has previously shown high results in various national level Olympiads. Currently, her achievements are also highlighted by awarding Excellence Scholarships of Pēteris Avens.
