Patron Igor Solomatin (1958) is a doctor ophthalmologist, associate professor and lecturer at the UL Faculty of Medicine. His research is devoted to the analysis of laser eye surgery results. Graduated from Riga Medical Institute, continued scientific education in Ukraine and received medical doctor degree in Helmholtz institute (Moscow, Russia).

Worked at P. Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital, Department of Ophthalmology. Head of the Ophthalmology Unit at Riga 1st Hospital. Currently the head of Dr. Solomatin Eye Rehabilitation and Vision Correction Centre.


Support

Supported UL FM students by conducting lectures in the premises of his private clinic, where his eye surgery equipment was used for teaching purposes. He has been teaching the course "Ophthalmology" at the UL FM since its restoration.
