The Fatherland Foundation was established on 13 June 1969 by the Latvian Association of Student Corporations to aggregate the donations of individual members of corporations into larger sums to be used to support Latvian education efforts. Its work is carried out by the Fatherland Foundation Commission and is supervised by the Latvian Association of Student Corporations. The organization aims to raise the profile of student corporations in academia and among young students.

Andrejs Baidiņš, cashier of the Fatherland Foundation of Latvian Association of Student Corporations, Andrejs Baidiņš, honorary member of the corporation Fraternitas Academica notes that cooperation with the UL Foundation started in 2006, when the UL Foundation representatives visited America and introduced the goals of the scholarship programme "Ceļamaize" ("Bread for the Journey") to the Fatherland Foundation.

Support

Tēvijas Fonds (Fatherland Foundation) of Latvian Association of Student Corporations, as far as possible, each year supports the causes of education and study opportunities.

The foundation particularly supported the social scholarships "Ceļamaize 2009", "Ceļamaize 2010", "Ceļamaize 2011" and "Ceļamaize 2012".

In 2013, the foundation granted the support of USD 3 000 for scholarship "Ceļamaize 2013".

In 2014, the foundation continued its support of the scholarship programme "Ceļamaize" with a donation of USD 3 000.

In 2015, the foundation supported the scholarship programme "Ceļamaize" with a donation of USD 1 000.
