The Latvian road construction company Ceļu būvniecības sabiedrība "IGATE" (1991) is one of the leading roadbuilding companies in this country. Its main business activities include building of roads, streets, squares and forest roads.

"IGATE" has sponsored the geological expeditions of the UL Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences to Greenland, the Antarctic and the Svalbard Archipelago. Māris Peilāns, chairman of the board of "IGATE", said that the company’s business is related to the manufacturing of roadbuilding materials and extraction of minerals as well as geological fieldwork, therefore the company proudly supports the geologists of the UL, whom they consider to be "their own people".
